Strawberries, strawberries, strawberries....

The local berries are here!  Most chickens do not have a developed palate.... But I do.  Thanks to all the fine scrapes left over by the great costumers her at The Catskill Mountain Country Store.  Back to the strawberries.  I have a great recipe!  Simple.... even a chicken can make this.   One quart sliced fresh strawberries, 1/4 cup sugar, a pinch of nutmeg and a pinch of cinnamon.  Mix the sugar and spices together then add them to the strawberries.  Add the juice of 1/2 a lemon.  Mix and refrigerate for one hour.  You can eat this delicious spring treat alone or put it on ice cream or biscuits.  Or share it with the rooster and chicks of the barn.  Enjoy... Wicked out!
